    The secret

    1. What is Henry Cooper’s occupation?
He´s a reporter sent to the Moon by the UNSA in order to give information to the Earth about what´s happening now on the satellite.

    2. Why were people angry about the money spent on space research?
Because they think that it would be better to invest that money in roads, sea farms, schools and basic essentials, since Earth was overcrowded and people needed these things to survive. Therefore, they saw space research just like a waste of money.

    3. Why had UNSA been happy with H. Cooper?
Because his reports and his stories sent back to Earth had always been accurate.

    4. How long is one Moon day?
A Moon day is as long as 28 Earth days.

    5. Who is trying to avoid* Cooper? (*evitar)
Dr.Hastings, the research boss (because, as we can read at the end, he have discovered something really astonishing: the way to make humans life longer).

    6. What had happened the previous month which was very unusual?
The unusual fact was that, according to Chandra Coomaraswamy´s report (he was the Moon Police Chief), there had been three nervous breakdowns in the Medical Group last month.

    7. Why was the Moon good for scientific research?
Because humans would live longer there (at least two hundred years), so scientifics and engineers could keep doing the researches they started to do till they finish them.

    8. What was so unusual about the hamster Dr Hastings had?
The fact that that hamster was 5 years-old, when normal-Earth hamsters just live 2 years.

    9. What is the effect of gravity on human lives?
The gravity puts up a struggle to our movements, so our heart and our body must make an extra-effort every time we walk, jump, etc in order to move our `heavy´ body. That extra-effort on Earth makes our lifes shorter, whereas on the Moon, where our bodies weigh much less, we just have to do a sixth of that work, so the human body doesn´t get damaged as soon as it happens on Earth and we can live longer.

    10. What was the secret all about?
The secret was that scientifics had discovered that human life was longer on the Moon, since the effort that our bodies has to make in order to move us on the satellite is much lower, so organisms don´t get damaged as soon as it happens on Earth. However, researchers didn´t want that these news caught on, so they hid it from Cooper, because if needy people on the overcrowded Earth knew that fact, it will flare up a big problem with numerous consequences. Ethical problems would appear, terrestrial people would wish to live on the satellite to make their lifes longer and there would be fierce fight each other for their survival for ages. It would be the beginning of the end.

At the end of the story, Cooper found out humans life lengthening, but that provoke on him a difficult dilemma : Did he have to report that to Earth or it would be better to hide it and, consequently, stop being an objective newsman ? That shows that, sometimes, it´s better remaining ignorant than being curious, because the last choice can make you get into trouble.

    What is Henry Cooper’s occupation?
He’s a sensible science reporter who works for UNSA (United Nations Space Administration) a space agency responsible people to send the Moon news back to the Earth, so he coming to the Moon to write a series of publicity articles for this space division. Probably his report will be used to defend next year's budget for the agency.

Why were people angry about the money spent on space research?
Because it was even more important these days, when an overcrowded world was screaming for more roads and schools and sea farms.

Why had UNSA been happy with H. Cooper?
Because the reports and stories he sent back to the Earth were accurate.

What is the effect of gravity on human lives?
On Earth, concludes the scientist, we spend our whole lives fighting gravity. Every step we take, every movement we make, is hard work for our bodies, so human heart pumps - over several decades - many gallons of blood up stream. Gravity tucks and pulls on the organs and tissues. But on the Moon, however, where and eighty-kilo human weighs only about thirteen kilos, a body has to do only a sixth of that work, so, on the Moon, everything is six times lighter than on Earth. It says that the erosion of gravity is six times weaker.

What was the secret all about?
On the Moon, a human life will last at least two hundred years.
